Light the world with love this Karthik month

As the sweetest holiest month of the year dawns, we can daily remember the most enchanting lila that took place in this very month.

One morning , Little Krishna stole butter that was hanging from the ceiling and after running in fear of Mother Yasoda, He was finally caught and bound by her ropes of love to a wooden grinding mortar.

This most charming pastime is celebrated throughout this month of Karthik. It is Krishna’s favourite month wherein the slightest endeavour to please Him reaps the greatest spiritual rewards.

Therefore during this month around the world we daily sing the Damodarashtakam prayer and offer a ghee lamp to Lord Damodara with a yearning that very soon our hearts will also become bound to Him again.

So kids, this month we would like for as many of you to participate in showing a ghee lamp to Lord Damodara so that you can engage in this most delightful month of Karthik and obtain the greatest spiritual blessings.

Your challenge is to send in photos like the one shown below of you offering a ghee lamp to Lord Damodara. You can be as creative as you like in your photos, and towards the end of Karthik Masthe Hare Krsna TV will broadcast your photo offerings for many to appreciate.

Let us surprise Lord Damodara this year with a big kids lamp offering! We will start from October 25 to November 20, 2021.

Entry requirements:

Age 3-16 years old

Photos to be submitted by those who have parental responsibility for the child

One photo per child

Photos should be horizontal, of high resolution and should include Lord Damodara (please find a darshan picture below that you can print off and use if needed).
