On Saturday, April 28, New Vrindaban will observe a traditional holiday, celebrating the divine appearance of Sri Nrsimhadeva the half-man half-lion avatar of Lord Vishnu.
The appearance of Sri Nrsimhadeva has been observed for millennia in India and is now celebrated world-wide. His story is beautifully told in the sacred text Srimad Bhagavatam. Traditionally, bhakti-yogis honor Sri Nrsimhadeva as the protector of His devotees and the remover of all obstacles and difficulties on the path of devotion.
The evening will feature a talk and include a line-up of wonderful kirtan leaders, a drama, a beautiful traditional ceremonial bathing (abhishek) of the form of Sri Nrsimhadev and an amazing vegetarian feast served to all guests. Seeing as New Vrindaban is home to a larger than life murti of Sri Nrsimhadeva, our event is extra special—filled with an exciting darshana of Ugra Nrsimhadev at 7.25pm. This is not to be missed. Participate in person or in your offerings to the divine protector incarnation of Lord Krishna.
